J.J. Garfinkel

Chapel Furrow, 2007, oil, acrylic, enamel on panel, 54" x 48"

Terra Spectra, 2008, oil, acrylic, abalone on panel, 48" x 62"

Conjured A Sample, 2008, oil on panel, 40" x 34"
Untitled, 2009, watercolor, gouache, flashe and pencil on paper, 10" x 8"

Channel #3, 2009, oil on canvas, 45" x 45"

Landmine Spring, 2004, enamel, foam, plastic on panel, 24" x 24"

Aura of Nights, 2009, oil on canvas, 52" x 78"

Aura of Lights is part of J.J. Garfinkel's renewed interest in oil painting on a larger scale...it and Channel #3 are especially nice in person. I'm liking the way he moved from works like Landmine Spring into this more sophisticated and mysterious grouping of nature's objects. His works have been seen at Hogar Collection (among other spots) and you check out more here.

One of the best "top ten" lists of the year. Thanks to Anaba for paying attention!

And one of my favorites of the last year...Patrick Brennan FAZES. In case you missed it, a nice view on Patrick's work here by Matthew Fisher. And see coverage of this show on KCLOG.

Something that struck me, by Tom Moody.

Also stay tuned for more from Daily Operation...we are working on some artists editions that should be out soon. Thanks to all who have come out over the past two years. It's been really fun...more to come. In the meantime, join the Daily Operation page on Facebook for updates.
